DLIAFC Mission Statement

The following are the purposes for which this organization is organized:

The mission and goals of the independent DLI Alumni & Friends Community (DLIAFC) shall be to act and serve as a proponent of the Defense Language Institute as an educational institution and to support the greater DLIFLC community.

To accomplish the mission and goals, the online community of Membership will serve to collect and distribute information about DLIFLC Alumni affairs and act to form a searchable central registry of DLI Alumni. In addition, DLIAFC will be the forum and repository for oral histories and anecdotes, digitized multimedia artifacts, and pedagogical submittals to the Office of Command Historian with a goal of publishing a multimedia CD collection.

Anyone with a present or past affiliation with the Defense Language Institute in any capacity is welcome to register and participate.

Volunteers' efforts are currently responsible for your Alumni site. Alumni are especially encouraged to participate in the development of DLIAFC. The success of DLIAFC will be directly related to individual DLI Alumni contributions of time and effort.

If everyone makes even a small contribution of their time, then DLIAFC will morph into one fine Community.
